Smart Toilet Installation Guide: DIY Tips, Rough-in Specs, and Power Setup for HK Flats

Thinking about upgrading to a Smart Toilet  but worried about the installation? From measuring the rough-in distance to setting up the 13A socket, installing a 52cm Smart Bidet Toilet is easier than you think. This guide covers everything you need to know to ensure a perfect fit in your Hong Kong bathroom.

1. The Foundation: Rough-in Distance

The most critical step in buying an Integrated Smart Toilet is knowing your "Rough-in Distance" (the distance from the wall to the center of the drain).

  • HK Standard: Most estates use 305mm (12 inch) or 400mm (16 inch).

  • Pro Tip: If your measurement is between 300-310mm, choose the 305mm model. Our 52cm Smart Bidet Toilet fits most HK plumbing layouts.

2. Power and Water Requirements

Unlike traditional toilets, a Smart Bidet Toilet requires:

  • Power: A 13A water-proof socket located within 1 meter. This powers the seat heating, Foam Shield, and UV Sterilization.

  • Water: A standard 1/2" water inlet. Since HK uses sea water, we highly recommend installing our specialized filter to protect the Smart Toilet's internal valves.

3. DIY Installation Tutorial

You don't always need a contractor to install your Smart Bidet Toilet. Here’s a simple DIY flow:

  1. Remove Old Toilet: Shut off water, flush, and unscrew the base.

  2. Placement: Align the Smart Toilet with the floor drain using the wax ring.

4. Why the 52cm Series is the Best Choice

Our 52cm Smart Toilet is designed with a "Universal Fit" philosophy. Its compact footprint makes it much lighter and easier to maneuver in tight HK bathrooms than bulky 700mm models. It also features an Integrated Deodorizing System, making it the perfect all-in-one upgrade.
